    Pakistan Telegraph
    Thursday 29th July, 2010
    (IANS)

Australia is set to host the 2015 Asian Cup finals after presenting its bid to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at a meeting in Kuala Lumpur Thursday.

Australia is the only contender for the 16th edition of the competition.

AFC president Mohamed bin Hammam received the bid book from Football Federation of Australia (FFA) chairman Frank Lowy.

'It has been a win-win situation for the AFC and FFA since Australia joined the AFC in 2006,' Hammam said in a statement. 'Now we are all reaping the benefits of this association.'

The AFC executive committee is expected to endorse Australia as host in January in Qatar.
