    Knight Riders beat Deccan Chargers by 11 runs

    Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Deccan Chargers by 11 runs in the opening Twenty20 match of the third edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the D.Y. Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai here Friday.

    Chasing a target of 162, Deccan Chargers made 150 for seven in 20 overs after skipper Adam Gilchrist scored 54. Angelo Matthews scored an unbeaten 65 and Owais Shah made 58 not out as the Knight Riders made 161 for four in 20 overs.
