    Factfile on Delhi Metro:

    * Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was set up in 1995, construction started in 1998 and the first section opened in 2002.

    * The total length of the Metro is 138 km, there are 16 sections and 117 stations.

    * The longest lines are Dwarka Sector 9-Noida city centre and Jahangirpuri-Qutub Minar, both 45-km long.

    * At 6.25 km, Yamuna Bank-Anand Vihar is the shortest line.

    * The daily ridership is over a million.

    * The strength of the Delhi Metro is about 6,000.
