    (ANI)

Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has called for a boycott of village and urban local body polls in Jammu and Kashmir due to be held next month.

Addressing a public gathering at Sopore town, Geelani said that they would continue to boycott all elections in the state.

"Whatever the election whether it is Panchayat (village body), local area, municipality, assembly or parliament, tell me what should be our stand... boycott... boycott. We should boycott every elections," said Geelani.

He also said that the Indian Government had promised in the United Nations that they would give the right of self-determination to the people of Kashmir and that unless it was done their agitation would continue.

The Hurriyat Conference wants the Kashmir dispute to be settled with trilateral talks between India, Pakistan and Kashmir. (ANI)
