Hughes set to become Turkish football team coach
    Pakistan Telegraph

    (ANI)

London, Feb.9 : Former Manchester City coach Mark "Sparky" Hughes is on the shortlist to become Turkey's new national boss.

Russia chief Guus Hiddink was favourite for the job but Sparky has won support from the likes of ex-Blackburn star Tugay and Stoke striker Tuncay, who have been sounded out by the Turkish FA about his credentials.

Hughes has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester City almost two months ago.

The Sun quoted his assistant at City Mark Bowen last night as saying that the pair was keen to get back into the game.

Tugay would become Hughes' No 2 in the Turkey regime but Sparky would take Bowen with him, along with the rest of his backroom staff from City.
